<P>The Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) will be introduced on <STRONG>01 November 2007</STRONG>. In common with other Governments around the world, the British Government is working hard to stop the spread of knowledge and skills that could be used in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their means of delivery. The ATAS is designed to ensure that people who are applying to study certain sensitive subjects in the UK do not have links to WMD programmes.</P>
<P>As a result, if you are a non- <A class=kinternallinkurl href="http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/student/eea.php"><STRONG><FONT color=#666699>EU/EEA (including Switzerland) national</FONT></STRONG></A> planning to undertake <STRONG>postgraduate</STRONG> study in the UK in certain science, engineering or technology disciplines (<A class=kinternallinkurl href="http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&amp;c=Page&amp;cid=1186674486859"><STRONG><FONT color=#666699>see full list</FONT></STRONG></A>)<EM> </EM>from 01 November 2007, then you will need to acquire an ATAS certificate <STRONG>before</STRONG> you can apply for a Visa, Entry Clearance (EC) or Extension of Stay (EoS). 防间谍！

请问LS的哥哥或者姐姐“防间谍”是嘛意思，要是我没理解错误的话，照你的意思我的贴可是 “狗咬吕洞宾。。。”了。 真让人心理不痛快，你说这是嘛事儿。只可惜这里没狗不理包子，要不我非去吃它几十个消消气儿不可。

不是英国政府为了防间谍才出台这种政策的吗？

LS没事儿不用啥都往自己头上揽。更没有必要认为别人会对你有什么恶意，何必呢？

跟通常的间谍好像没嘛直接关系，要不我也不会产生误会，你说是吧LS。
如果下回LS能说清楚一点，就没这事儿了。

那他英国政府就是“只许州官放火，不让百姓点灯”了。摆明他自己在搞大规模杀伤性武器。

你们可不行，你们不民主，独权主义，没人权，置人民于水火。有了会破坏世界和平，所以就是不行！

<P>Under the UK Immigration Rules postgraduate students who are not nationals of the European Economic Area (including Switzerland) or who are not otherwise entitled to enter or remain in the UK by virtue of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006, who intend to study for a certain postgraduate qualifications in science, technology or engineering based courses in the UK are required to meet the following criteria: </P>

<P>They must hold a valid ATAS Clearance Certificate; </P>

<P>They must hold a valid Student Entry Clearance / Visa The requirement to hold an ATAS certificate is also applicable to students currently in the UK who are seeking an extension or variation of their stay. </P>
<P>&nbsp;</P>
<P>If you are already in the UK as a student (or in one of the limited number of other immigration categories which permit switching into the student route) and you would like to extend your stay in the UK as a student, then you will also need to obtain an ATAS certificate if you meet the three criteria above. You must do this before applying for an extension of stay. </P>
