大家说下该怎么办？

上个月学校说IPC专业不开了，叫我转专业，我就稀里糊涂转到english studies去了，7月底说在放假发不了offer，校方8月6号统一发的，可是我刚得到消息说，学院的相关负责人去度假了，还没回来，上礼拜的offer还没给我发出来，要我等，我可都愁死了，这一等要等多久呀？大家说说我改怎么办？

还有 english studies 专业啊？ 选专业可要慎重哦。

MLitt English Studies，我也很茫然，

我不知道LZ的英语水平，冒昧说一句，估计这个专业不是你想要的。应该主要是给将来当英语或英国文学老师的英国人准备的！

我本科专业是英语，回国是想当老师，可是就怕这专业不好读啊，和英国人一起念英语超没信心

说的我好矛盾啊，那怎么办，现在不可能再换专业了啊

You can apply for visa by using this offer. After you reach the Uk, then you can come to university to change your subject.

至少在英语国家里，你的专业是英语 ＝ 你没有任何专业。

IPC取消可害惨了不少人啊，真是的~~:p30:

可是，如果LZ是想回国当英语老师，读这个专业没啥问题吧～～

what's the point coming here spending money to take the postgraduate course for LZ then if she only wants to be an English teacher of China

If you really want to study English, why choose Scotland? Scottish Accent?

I think being a teacher is a good choice. Coming to English speaking country to further the language, acadamically, is good as well. Plus, LZ's first degree is English. MLitt English Studies is much better than IPC though.

come on, how many Scot's teacher in the university?

The course is not a big issue, you won't learn much in any of the master courses here.
The most important thing is your attitude, your aim and your motivation.

However I believe the subject is the most important factor that needs to be considered though it only takes 1 year to acheive. The qualification of UK experience does not so brilliant to most of Chinese employers. When you take English degree with other local classmates in the  universities of the UK, you will see huge differences beween. Will your tutors qulify the degree for you is still a problem as in most cases you won't be the best and the average one in the class. When you are back to China or stay here searching for jobs you will see how difficult is it for you with an English degree of Uk's university. You won't even have the chance to beat against chinese graduates.

positive suggestion:140000 ,  if u don't know the situation of your subjects,  use the offer and come to UK first, then you will have your impression and your own ideas..

anyway, though cancellation of IPC has already caused a lot of trouble for the students, the effort made by university to switch them to other courses for sure is a good oppotunity to learn some real stuff. It's a common understanding that there is no other course worse than IPC. LZ should feel glad.

谢谢，LZ各位的中肯意见，我的就业方向是回国到高校当英语老师，我现在也相当的矛盾，因为像我专业的专业，继续读，专业选择面很窄，本来想读翻译的，可是我口语相当弱，读出来没啥优势，考虑过tesol，可是就是该死的口语没上6，当初没想过上语言，就错过了语言课程了，我陷入迷茫了，哎。。。

看来我最有资格给LZ建议了也，因为我有个好朋友和你的case几乎一样，她在Warwick读的TESOL，原本和我一样香港读的本科，她主修英语，英语水平很不错，亚思7以上。读完一年以后，她老爸不动用任何关系，让她自由在上海找工作半年，终于找到一个专上学院，在里面教英语，收入如果加上打工的话，还不错。你读完硕士在国内绝对不可能马上进入高校，除非是民办的，国家的高校是no way的，国内的机制很不同。如果是民办或名不见经传的高校，还不如选择在国内直博来得好。少花钱，效果一样。国内直硕有的时候比直博难。但普遍来讲，硕士毕业是很难在国内的高校混的，有关系另计。

不过你有option的，你读完以后可以去香港、澳门或新加坡找工作，就香港而言，你是有机会进入高校从instructor做起的，收入不低，税比较低，房租贵，生活方便，做个几年再跳回国内机会会大一点。

在英国读完书可以续两年的签证。为什么不学一个有可能在英国找到工作的专业，充分利用这两年的时间在英国找工作呢？

港澳的情况我不清楚。想在新加坡居住，雇佣你的单位得有资格为你申请 EP （employement pass）, 而且对月薪有基本要求，好象是 3k/month 以上。有了EP 交一年税以后可以申请PR，从这一点说比英国容易，英国现在需要5年。但要找到能够申请EP的工作不见得比在英国找到申请 work permit 的工作容易。

我个人的观点是，如果楼主喜欢这个专业，读一读也无妨，如果不喜欢。。。那还是再仔细考虑一下吧。

我当年上大学的时候就没有考虑自己是否喜欢所学的专业，浪费了5年时间，后来总结出来教训，不论专业将来的前途如何，首先要自己喜欢才能考虑，没兴趣的专业，读起来就是浪费时间啊

因为有些人是喜欢回国的，比如因为父母，比如因为环境比较适应，我是针对她回国这个情况来说的。

个人感觉这个专业MM读着会很困难呢，你去这里[url]http://www.dundee.ac.uk/english/postgrads/mlittprofiles.htm[/url] 看看MLITT 的学生情况，举一个例子，人家说的她感兴趣的地方是这些个。这将会是你的上届同学呢！

俺也号称是英文专业的，但是真的要说１９世纪和２０世纪&创意写作（是这么翻不？），俺是没戏的。当年英国文学笔记做的再好，但是真正的大部头，俺没读过几部呢！MM你的英国文学学的好吗？国内的英文专业和这边的，还是比不得的。

我是说从英国读书毕业以后， 英国的 home office 会给每个留学生再延续两年的签证，从而让留学生有从英国找工作的机会。我觉得应该充分利用这两年的时间。如果已经想好了毕业就回国的话，那另当别论。
